New Dogal Maestrale Strings

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog! I wanted a place to share my thoughts and ideas on everything classical guitar and music related. A blog seemed to be the place to do it. In this blog I will be reviewing related products, post videos of my performance and technical exercises on a weekly basis.

The new Dogal Maestrale (the Master of all the Winds) strings are very powerful and make the guitar explode in volume. I first heard about these strings during the 2016 Guitar Foundation of America Festival. I stopped by the Dogal table during the festival and asked the representative about the new strings. I asked the rep. what the strings were made from, unfortunately the materials are a big company secret and therefore he would not tell me. He did tell me that the purpose of this set is to increase the volume, lower the tension that is put on the guitar and prevent the treble strings from scratching. Something interesting about these strings is that the trebles are blue and will stand out on a concert stage. Dogal does include an additional Eiamante 1st string in case the Maestrale 1st string is not suitable to the player.

I purchased a few sets to give them a try; I must say, I am really impressed. The strings have increased the volume of my guitar exponentially. The strings took about a week to settle in, but once they did, the strings just exploded! They are very responsive and produce an amazing tone. After playing on the strings for a few weeks, I did notice that my nails scratched the high E string, a problem that seems to follow me. Even though these strings are supposed to prevent any scratching on the strings. I normally use Savarez, the Creation line, and will be going back and forth to determine which set I will be performing with in the future.

I would recommend the new Dogal Maestrale strings. They are very conferrable to play on and produce a great sound.

Pros: Great tone and increases volume of the guitar.

Cons: Trebles can still get scratched.
